not once but twice!!!!
What can I do to the pooch make it look better again. i don't want to apply anything to the pooch that will cause it to rub off onto my clothes.
I would love to salvage this pouch because this pouch is far the softest most supple pouch I've owned from CRK's. Well it use to be.

Get some obenaufs heavy duty lp and rub that on it. Use two or three coats. It may darken the leather, but it will make it nice and supple again.

I use Farnam Leather New Balsam on all my motorcycle apperal and boots. It's awesome stuff! I bet it would work great on your pouch.

Good luck!

Obenaufs or some other leather conditioner should do the trick. Make sure to rub it in good!

If you just rub some oil into your pouch it will feel much better. (That's what she said).

Seriously, some Lexol will be the best thing here. It'll return some of the tanning oils to the leather that would have been washed out by the detergent in the washing machine. It will darken it a bit but who cares; it's the best product for the job. Ask anyone who's used it, or any horseback rider.... available all over and at any farm/tack shop.
