Just trying out the format of this forum, a friend of mine and I make knives together and he was having trouble figuring out how to post pictures in his messages.
So here goes...

or here, but you have to cut and paste...and put thehttp://www before it

Stats for the curious...
These are beautiful custom damascus small hunters. Handforged in the Ozarks by a true artist. Eric Barnes is an Arkansas bladesmith that has been making knives since 1987. All his knives are handcrafted at his shop;
Dangerous Curves Forge
P.O.Box 1802
Mountain View, AR 72560
Damascus is forged from 360 layers of 1084 and 203-E tool steel, and hardened to 57RC. Overall lengths are about 9" with a 5" blade, bevels are flat ground with a slight distal taper. The handles are (from the top, from memory, so don't hold me to these macarta, maple, burl maple, stag, maple, and I forget). with nickle silver, titanium and brass guards. Fit and finish is stunning, the grind lines and plunge lines match, and the handles are a comfortable balanced fit in your hand. The blades have been etched and polished to expose a magnificent ladder pattern on all but the bottom one, which is a random pattern.

firstly, welcome aboard!

your friend and you make nice knives. actually, the best place to put these pictures up is at the Gallery forum (everyone goes there to gawk haha!). it's ok here, just that I usually see em there.

are those blades presentation blades or are they meant for use? how do you test their sharpness / edge holding?

a close-up of the damascus would definitely be appreciated.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong area, just trying out the forum, to see how it works/doesn't work I was wanting to post pics from my geocities page, found out that didn't work too well. Going to need to get a Gold membership, this looks like a very active place to sell blades, which is one thing we have been looking for.

Thanks for the complements, to answer some of the questions, these are VERY usable blades, some custom made for individuals, some for AG Russel ....testing...there is a lot of variables involved with edge durability, cutting ability etc..you make/sharpen/handle/use enough, you know kind of what to look for. That being said, we both have been involved in ABS cutting competitions which are a great way to find out what works and what does not, cutting everything from free hanging toilet paper, radiator hose, rope, chop 2X4's in half, etc... But one of the most extreme tests we have done is to chop about 3-4" seasoned hickory logs in half (bigger knives),then try and shave hair off arm, with the section you were chopping with. Succeed in that, and you know you have a very durable, well sharpened edge. I will try and post damascus close ups in the gallery.

Yup, this really deserves Gallery time. Had a look at the pic and its definitely worth showing off ! A suggestion - post one knife at a time. That'll give us more to ogle ... Jason.

For future references, you might also want to look into getting a Gold or Knifemaker membership for the purpose of selling. It is generally agreed that selling without these memberships is not PC on this site.

Welcome to BFC, and I hope you enjoy your time here. You might also want to check out the Custom knife, and Shop Talk forums (under General Knife Discussion). Great sources of information.

Yeah, I realize I need a gold membership to sell, which I have not done, I was actually trying to help out a friend that has a bit less web experience than I to post some pics, not trying to cause waves.
