"Farm Tool"
Guard and pommel cap came from my wifes brothers farm shed. Steel is O1 with a WICKED sharp edge via convex grind.
Made this for myself as a daily user hacking limbs (Human or otherwise) it will get the job done and come back for more! Shown next to My Colt Commander for scale. Balances exactly at the guard and feels light but Fast

Have another Bowie that is made entirely from materials found on the farm...Pics later
Enjoy

Mmmm... I like!
Kinda like a cross between an old Army Hospital Bolo and an Aitor Cuchillo del Monte... with an attitude! :D

That is one awesome looking "farm tool." Love the patina on the blade. Do you mind sharing how you did that? Despite the advances in stainless, I still love carbon steel because of the patinas it will take with time and use.

Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Hmm, I don't know if it's good enough for you -- you'll just have to sell it to one of us... :)

PS. Nice web site. So sorry to read about your son; I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have one of my kids go before me...

The only reason you can only play 9 holes in the morning and 2 hours later ski in the afternoon is that you don't live in Tucson -- you could get in a full 18 holes and be skiing one hour later (ski the Lemmon!). I miss AZ.

Trade for a firearm, eh? What would you do for a Colt Police Positive .22 Target, 1919 build date?

Blade was Bead blasted then Cold Blued and sanded with 2000 grit. Just a user finish that could easily be touched up. Looks even better with scratches and wear marks on the blade.
Still deciding if the hollow grind on the spine should be sharpened:confused:

Pommel is threaded onto the tang end. Tang is about 3/4" wide except for the last 1/2" which I threaded. Filled the whole thing with the bonding agent and screwed it tight. You would have to destroy the kinfe to get that handle off.
