See here-"How To Insulate Your Feet From the Cold"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZUYmc7eRB8
To quote this video (in an Igor voice) wool BAD, cotton GOOD!
WTF!?
So they are saying cotton is better than wool....hunh?
I'm no Ray Mears/Les Stroud survival guru but to me but the advice re:cotton vs wool in this video seems totally @ssbackwards!
Please go to the video and comment and rate it poorly if you think the video gives stupid dangerous advice.
At the very least please rate it as it you feel it deserves, Comments may disappear, i previously put a comment there regarding its incorrectness and the comment has since mysteriously disappeared.

search anything with Mr. Bear grylls. the rate that that guy gives away bad advise about survival is astronomical!!!

There are so many self professed experts on youtube I can't keep up. Most just regurgitating (poorly) what they saw on Ray Mears' DVD extras.

But I guess dangerous advice (if taken by the inexperienced) is worth a public flogging!

Edit: Just watched the video and was amazed that this appears to be a professional production, not some bedroom bush guru. Wow. Cotton better than wool. Thin better than thick. hm.

Thats why its dangerous, its professional looking but contains erroneous info. Sadly people often assume quality video means quality content.
Thats why this video deserves a smackdown in the form of negative comments and poor ratings.

If you need to search and view information like this on Youtube, you have no business trying to keep your feet warm.

I'll assume you mean "you" in a general sense and not in a specific sense, lol.
I know "I" wasn't searching for anything, i subscribe to lots of youtube channels mostly for entertainment, this vid happened to be in the recent vids list, i clicked on it and watched it.
It bugs me that they didn't even bother to research this before they produced a video on it.
Professional look doesn't necessarily equate with professional/quality content.
Caveat emptor!

Yes, not you directly.

Maybe someone will lose some toes over this and sue Howcast.
Do they even do research for these videos?
2 minutes spent doing a google search would have shown how erroneous their "facts" are.
Whats the phrase?- EPIC FAIL!
