Dangler Loop Questions???

I just got this amazing sheath by Chuddy Bear. The work is top notch. It is a Dangler for a busse NMFBM, has anyone cut the steel loop and replaced it with a carabiner or something that you can easily take off? Just wondering.

I've seen it done plenty of times (not necessarily on Chuddy's sheaths) and it seems to work fine.
