Asked in another thread on a particular knife, but wanted a broader exposure.

What's the general feeling on danglers?

I have one for a Scandihoovian style knife here, but have never worn it. I generally don't like things dangling & flopping loose off a belt, including holsters AND knives.

Looks like the dangler could easily be swiveled to rest comfortably out of the way from poking into the bucket seat on the ATV, which would be a plus, but I'm thinking it'd be annoying while on foot & would require two hands to draw the knife, which isn't always convenient.

I probably won't try the one I have, the knife & sheath are both new & unscarred, and might end up being given as a birthday present, so I don't want to ding 'em up and THEN decide I don't like the idea. :)

Might consider ordering a dangler from JRE for another knife I will be carrying.

I love them. I've got one from blind horse knives that I throw my HEST in for backpacking. It's a great way to wear a pack with a waist belt and a knife at the same time. My particular knife sheath combo is still fine for one hand use, it's not a terribly tight fit but about 90% of the knife fits inside the sheath so I'm not afraid of losing it. I never noticed it get in the way of anything.
