Dangler Strap for the Benchmade 162 Sheath? Benchmade help please?

I bought a Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter knife, and I really like the knife. My question here is why wasn't a dangler strap included for the sheath? I'm really puzzled, and a bit irritated about this. There is a D ring on the sheath for the dangler strap, but the strap is not present with the knife which was new in the box? And this is specifically how I had intended to carry the knife. :(
Do I have to have one made elsewhere? Any input from Benchmade on this would be nice.

They come new with the dangler strap. I would call Benchmade and explain your situation. They will take care of you.

They do not come with a dangler, at least mine I bought a few months ago did not. If I am mistaken, please post a picture of it.

But you have plenty of options, including making or buying one. I know there are leather ones but here are the ones I use depending on what belt or pants I am using. All of these came from a mil/police supply store or a hardware store (I made the paracord one). Of the 3 I have I think the "Lucky Line Secure-A-Key" metal one is my favorite.

That looks pretty good.
What fire steel is that, and what diameter is the steel shaft part?

It is a Light My Fire Swedish 2.0 Firesteel Army Model Cocoshell. I'm not sure of the diameter but it fits snugly in the sheath. I wouldn't have any concerns with it falling out even if I didn't have the paracord loop holding it in.

Benchmade only supplies the dangler ring on the 162 sheath , not a strap for belt use. It is easy to fabricate one out of leather or other materials. I have 6 162's. Great knife.

My point is that it sure would have been nice to have the same leather and color supplied. I was looking very strongly at the Blind Horse/Battle Horse knife before deciding on Benchmade. The BHK knife includes the dangler with their sheath.
Now that I know that the dangler isn't included, I will just source one elsewhere.
Thank for all the replies, and at least I know I wasn't just jipped by the seller.

Six 162's? You didn't buy five for resale did you? ;) You must "REALLY" like the knife as that makes quite a statement.

I also own the 162 Bushcrafter. The reason/answer is simple - economics. A knife reviewer asked Benchmade why they didn't include a "dangler" and their answer was to keep the price as low as possible. Danglers are not expensive if the owner wants to use one, and like sheaths styles vary greatly. For the others they are not buying something they won't use.

Benchmade has never advertised through pictures or specifications that a "dangler" is included... the 2014 catalog does not mention one, and directly from their website:

Included
Lock Mechanism: Fixed
Overall Length: 9.20"
Sheath Material: Brushed Full-Grain Buckskin Leather w/ D-Ring, Flint Rod Loop and Retention Strap

Fair enough, and as I mentioned above, I really like the knife and will probably just go to a Cobbler and have one made.
Will I still buy Benchmade? ABSOLUTELY!
