I'm officially hooked! :D

always been a on the belt kinda guy but with my first dangler (bhk muk) i'm totally diggen the design.

good placement, easy draw and put away, swivels away when i sit.

so how would one go about converting a traditional belt sheath like a sharp shooter bushcraft or a jre into a dangler..?

thanks

On an existing sheath, a heavy steel split ring , a leather strap and a couple of speed rivets, and you are in business.

Put the split ring onto the existing belt loop and run the strap through that and rivet it together and there you go.

Yup, I love danglers too. Especially the ability to swivel the sheath out of the way

I've put a dangler on my NWA sheath using a split ring like Sheathmaker suggested. Talfuchre has some good stuff here as well.

wow,

thats exactly the thing i was looking for amigo.

thanks for the tips.

the split ring idea is great too, just gotta learn to make the strap/top loop for it.

I use one of these grimloc devices

through the belt loop of the sheath, plus a belt keeper around the actual belt -

this lets you move the "dangler" system to different sheaths and to take it off your belt when necessary. This was good for me because it is pretty secure and requires no sewing or riviting ability. For big sheaths, I have used two of the beltkeepers though the belt loop of the sheath, plus another around the belt and through the beltkeepers attached to the sheath.

i love dangler style sheaths... i recently made this one and have been carrying it quite a bit lately.. it's a scandi-style..:)

great ideas.

those shackles make perfect sense. i've seen them around at the marine hardware stores around town.

gonna have to drop in for a visit.

People - you are working too hard! ;)

It is a removable dangler - originally made to replace brief case handles. They can be found here for purchase:

Called 'ring with removable pin'.

They are one inch on the inside they are perfect for this. I have been using them for almost a year - with no issue.
