Has anyone seen / used a Winkler knife before? I find them amazing and beautiful, but also expensive. What do people think?

Haven't used it, but just picked up this belt knife and sheath from Daniel and Karen at the Guild Show last weekend:

They are not inexpensive, but then you are getting the artistry of a master smith in Daniel and an equally talented sheath maker in Karen Shook.

Thanks, Joss. I should say that the blade is about 6.25" and 384 layers of 1095/L6. Handle is elk bone wrapped with rawhide.

The sheath features snapping turtle claws, hand painting, a variety of beads and brain tanned buckskin. The pix don't do the package justice.

On top of all that, Dan and Karen are about as nice a twosome as you're likely to meet.

Your right,Blues those two make quite a team.I am always amazed how they can make something new look so old.True talent and nice folks too.Dave:D

Hello Blues,
I heard you were in "Florida" :). That is a very nice looking rig from a pair of very talented people. Glad your back kicking around. The pics you sent were beautiful.
Talk to you later.
