Hi guys,

Came across some mammoth covered knives from Daniels under the Titusville brand.

What do you guys think of this maker? On par with GEC?

I have a few GECs but the Daniels look real good.

I own quite a few of the Tuna Valley knives made by DFKB. And had a SFO of 25 Titusville knives made through them as well. Great knives. They are not a full multi-employee factory, so are not going to be doing runs of 1000 knives multiple times per year. They are more focused on high end materials, and small runs of different variations.

I've been so close on pulling the trigger on one of their knives more times that I can remember. For whatever reason it never happened.

They seem to sell pretty quickly, so I'd say their popularity is rising. Part of the slow take off was the higher initial pricing, but it seems GEC has caught up now.
I have a bunch of DFKB knives. Reason being that when I found out about them, it made sense to just a pay a few bucks more and not have to play internet fast-click to get one.

To me, a peaceful purchasing process is worth something - but I guess some folks are in it for the adrenaline rush. I often pray that they'll go chase Nike's or Beanie Babies, anything, instead.

I've never been disappointed with any of the DFKB knives I've received and carry and use them regularly. The one mechanical issue I experienced was promptly and professionally resolved by none other than Ken Daniels himself and that, repaired, knife remains in fairly regular rotation to this day.

Do with that info what thou wilt. 👍

As a practical user my one and only Daniels knife is probably my favourite pocket knife - big call but I mean it!. I love the fit and feel for a user. I haven’t bought more because their base price is nearly $400 aud and goes up from there.

I’d like to get one of their ebony farmer jacks and whenever they get around to doing a clip I’ll probably pull the trigger.

I personally love the old man Jack

I am curious about the quality of the 2022-2024 Titusville knives. They are pricey, but if the F&F is as good as GEC, I might try one out. I like that they offer a lambsfoot caplifter jack!

Comparable to GEC - no question.

The model you're referencing is named the Longneck Barlow and was issued under their Napanoch Knife Co. brand in 2023 as an SFO. All the releases I've seen from their Napanoch line have been quite dear indeed! Me personally? If I'm shelling out for a Napanoch lambfoot - it had better have one of those nifty little saws! I have a handful of 25s, an 85, and a gaggle of SAKs that can lift caps but, primate that I am, I usually just pry a cap off with something more "field expedient" - like a lighter or a countertop!

Obviously not my pic, but I think we can call it fair use:
