Solvang is so authentic they even have a "Dane in the Box."

Nice little tourist town I haven't been there in 20 years. When I worked that area, I caught a kid growing dope, so I handed him over to SBSO. He went on to become a serial rapist/killer. Nice kid....Got shanked in prison. He was known as The Isla Vista Rapist.

I used to think Solvang was purely a tourst toiwn
But, it's really a small, tight knit community
I was in the post office and asked the lady where a good place to get a roast beef sandwich at
The lady asked a lady in line
"Marge..Where can he get a RB sandwich?"
Marge was a local bakery owner and she told me of a few good spots

The only thing I don't like is the summer heat
It get's 100+ on some days

The murders in 1976-1977 instilled an atmosphere of fear that effectively brought an end to the 1960's era in Isla Vista

We'll be in Lompoc the first or second WE in October. Golf at Vandenberg's Marshala Ranch in the morning and kringle in Solvang that afternoon. Interesting town that Solvang. :thumbup:
