I bought a pair of danner acadias about two weeks ago and thought I'd post a review here for all who might be interested. First off the boots are HEAVY! Maybe 2 pounds + each. These aren't lightweight assault boots, rather boots to wear if you're hauling a lot of weight or in extremely nasty terrain. I've taken them on 2 10 mile hikes and both times there was little rubbing, no hotspots, etc. Each time I was carryting 25-30 pounds of gear. They held up well against the rocks, snow, and the goretex lining was, as advertised, 100% waterproof ( stood in a creek for 10 min to test 6" depth). Yesterday went on a 20 mile march 70 pounds and at the end with only 1 week break in I had 2 bad hotspots and 1 blister underneath my first big toe. Not bad. I'm not going to be wearing these boots when I think I need to run in them or anything, but the seem to be great heavy duty boots and the construction on them seems superb. They are a lot better than the "cold weather" boots I got at RFI which were made by belleville, rocky, etc.

I just had my 1983 pair of Acadias refurbished by a local cobbler. I alternated between them and a pair of Danner 6" Patrol boots for years in a LE career. Money very well spent.
