finally bought new boots. been wearing the same style Vasque boots for over 10 years now and decided to 'branch out' after Vasque took a dive on quality.

picked up the Danner Quarry, 8", non steel toe, black.

these suckers are great. well constructed, overengineered even. wen't for a 3mi. variable terrain hike (even though these are 'work' boots and not hikers) and no blisters or even any 'hot spots'. and me with a half size difference between feet.

i love 'em, couldn't be happier. wife likes them too, says "those are some angry looking boots". what more can a man ask for?

Hey, Glad you like them! I have had about 4 pair and I'm definitely a fan of Danner boots. It took me awhile to actually buy a pair because of the price but after going through Timberland, Vasque, and Wolverine boots fairly quickly I put the money down for some Danner's and have been very impressed. I just got my latest pair about 6 weeks ago after about 3 days of wear, they were as comfortable as could be.
Good luck with the new boots.
regards,
Shannon

I used to wear Rockies at work (full time LEO). I broke down and got some Danners about 6 years ago. I love them. I got them real dirty one day and rather than clean them the next day I put on a pair of Rockies. That was a mistake! My feet were killing me. Danners are awesome and worth every penny. I have had mine resoled once, cost me $25.

I wear Danners for work or play unless I am in my Chacos. I wish Danner would make an outdoor sandal. I still have a pair of Danners from the Army (got out in 1979) that have been resoled and refurbished by Danner. Great customer service.

I have been happy with my Belleville 700s (USMC Infanty Boot). I am going to try Danners next year.
