Saw the news about the earthquakes in Japan and was wondering if you were at all affected by them. Hope not!

Holy cow.
We had 10 freakin earthquakes on saturday and two more in the last 12 hours. We just had one about an hour ago.
Yes, I am affected, but only but a small amount of alarm.
The epicenter has been in niigata, which is 160 km to the north of me.
You could say I'm definitely familiar with earthquakes now, but lucky enough to have never suffered any damage or loss because of it.
thanks for the concern, really.
We are fine.

Living in Southern Cal almost all my life I know just how scary earthquakes can be and there is very little you can do but endure. Good Luck and keep us updated.

Danny, I'm glad you and yours are doing well. I'm from SO Cali too and have been threw my share of earth quakes and aftershocks. God Bless!

Best wishes & prayers- living in hurricane ruins, but at least we had warning. Read all the J's are sleeping outside... I'm sure you have a plan. Good luck.

Because Danny and I are both huge hulking monsters capable of smashing little mockup buildings and spitting flames out our arses, er...mouths?

Thats right!

I was in Tokyo last Saturday, sitting in the Starbucks in Ginza. Earthquake rolled along, staff stopped for a moment (less than a second), women at the next table looked at the swinging lamp but still chatting away.

Second one came- scarcely anyone paid attention to it, except for my buddy and i.

Third one came when i was down the street at a tempura place, no one even acknowledged it. I forgot about it till i read this post, gotta go tell my wife that i survived 3 earthquakes this weekend :)

If this happened in Seattle, everyone will be under a table and home in no time.

Give Californians another 800 years of quakes and they will get accustomed to quakes too if they are still there...the Japanese have a long history of mostly inconsequential shaking.
