Jim Cooper of SharpByCoop has done something wonderful for me. Take a look. I think you'll agree, having a pro take pics is worthwhile. :D Danny's gonna love this...

Damn -- I was amazed when I first saw it, but Coop's pics bring out your attention to detail extremely well.

I'll start looking for this one in the future Blade magazines.

damn....how did you shape the nice ridges and trianle areas in the handle? Thats some fine work you 2.

Thanks everybody! It's really the photograph that makes this thing look so good. ;)

I did the carving with my Dremel and sanded it out with little rolls of sandpaper...

Mark I used a dry pigment from K&G to color the slow set epoxy. It also has fiber liners under the scales.

Glad you like it, I was grinning all over when I saw Coop's pics.

Very well deserved cudos Dave, It aint just the picture I'm sure. I guess if I every quit my love affair with the old and ugly look, I'll get some real photos taken. Jim's prices are very fair.

OOooouch that is sharp.. :) nice details and photo.. :)
that will make the Mags Dave..mark my words.. ;)

Guys, don't listen to him. ;) That axe is EVERY bit as good looking and well-made in person as it appears. I have rarely been scared of the power of a big piece, but the heft and sheer weight of this axe, coupled with such an ergonomic handle gave me the 'willies'. It is something else. Top-level workmanship, fitment, and design. It has it all. :D

Thanks for the compliments, Dave and all others. :) Once I looked at what I had to work with, I made a lighting adjustment and made SURE I displayed those curves appropriately. There is no smoke and mirrors--it's all there. This is Dave's parade, not mine, but I also appreciate your kind comments.

That's the best looking tool I've ever seen. Great fit on the handles, and the detail WOW!

Thanks again guys. Danny got his axe Friday and he's really happy with it. I can't wait to hear how it works for him. He said he's not letting anyone else use it for at least a year. :D Danny's been using a tanto push dagger I made way back when (I think it was my 8th knife) for skinning deer for something like 10 or 12 years - he needed a tool made for the job at hand. :)

That's great, both the picture and the axe. Your right Dave, Coop takes great pix and that piece was one that definatley deserved it. Great work by you both.
