DaQo'tah's Las Vegas, Vacation photos

Hi DaQo'tah

Welcome back, looks like you had some fun! Vegas is quite the place isn't it? Were you able to find any knife stuff while you were there?

Rick

hi Rick this is DaQo'tah

well....aside from going to the Las Vegas Hilton's Star Trek Experience, and comparing my Bat'leth to the Official one on display.......I just kinda walked around to all the different casinos and tried out my next possible career move as a 'Slot jockey'

they say that New York is the city that never sleeps...

well, I think that Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, but could use a good nap...

Well... I would have to say,,,,,"Mine were better!"

Yes, I know that perhaps Im not the most independent of judges, but well, I do think mine are better.

Now I went all the way to Las Vegas to see if mine would stand up against theirs., that was the whole purpose for the trip, Yes I know it was a lot of money to spend to answer that one question, but I have the time off from work in the winter, and it is in "Vegas baby",,,,so, what the heck?

Anyway, there was a bit of actual disappointment when I saw the two official Bat'leths on display. There is just no way to my mind that the ones on display there were ever in a movie or TV show. If they were they were in the back ground only, The reason I think this is, that the Warriors Configuration Bat'leth that is hung on the wall (see that photo on my link) is way too shiny. If they would try to film that weapon under the studio lights they would have gotten reflections like it was a disco ball.

The Kahless Sword of Honor was too huge. Also it was not thick enough to be real, and it seemed to have cutouts where I saw none on the TV show.

So,,,,,,it is my judgment that the so-called Official Bat'leths (the one everyone always compares mine to in emails to me ) , are not as good as mine in over all design or construction. I color my Bat'leths with fire( http://daqotahforge.tripod.com/klingonblades/id73.html) so that they are very dark to look at, for me this seems more likely the look of a true hand-forged weapon of a warrior race like the Klingons. Also my bat'leth could be dragged behind your car and still be "Good as new" ( http://daqotahforge.tripod.com/klingonblades/id56.html )

The one thing the Official Bat'leth had over mine was the steel that they used to make theirs out of,,,I can only use regular 'Mild' steel, due to that being all I got to work with around here. But the displayed Bat'leth at Star Trek the Experience seems to be made out of 'Stainless Steel'... perhaps one day I too will get hold of enough stainless steel to make my own such Bat'leth, then watch out!

Your stories keep getting better.:D The only real difference using a 300 series stainless and mild steel is that theirs won't rust. Even that is assuming they didn't contaminate the steel during processing. Just buy a big piece of O1 and make one that will completly crush anything they can make.

Thanks , insanity

I like to write,,,I like to tell stories about my little adventures that I get into all the time.

Cool! I like your Bat'leths on your site, I've never tried but you probly could find a sheat of high carbon somewhere, maybe Admiral Steel, to make them out of.

Glad you had a good time, you didn't take the cats buy the way?
