Hello!

You guys have prolly talked about this before.

Thought I'd bring it up...

Busse ever gonna do a FOLDER?

*steps 3 feet to the left just in case lightning strikes where he was sitting*

Figured your INFI should be able to give the ZDP-DOO Da's a run for their money! ;)

Love to see a big ass folder from BUSSE! About a 5 or six inch blade....
Beatimoss! None of this 3 inch bidness. :D

Shane

He already did. I saw it at last year's blade show, honest, and others have said they saw it the year before. but, alas, it didn't pan out and was sset aside to work on a carving set eventually to be sold at Walm***. I guess Jerry couldn't give himself up to a blade that would break in the middle. ;) Must be an "INFI" thing. :D

It's in the works my friend, just a matter of time. You can't rush quality. The Busse folder is going to take the knife world by storm. I'm sure one major issue is the expected demand. They have to have many different facets of production and distribution in place before they announce it. My guess is that it will rival the Sebenza in popularity. It takes a lot to gear up for that kind of demand and expectations of quality.

Believe me, you are not alone in your desire to have a Busse folder.

I gave up on the folder... I just use a fixed blade :p

Besides, I doubt there is a folder ;) Wanna prove me wrong? :D ;)

Trust me, it does exist. I have never seen it, but I've been told by reputable sources that a proto exists.

I HAVE seen it, and I tell yah, it was scrapped for work on a carving fork and knife. :D :D

You big jester you ;)

Yeah, it does exist. Great design and should rival if not better the sebenzas. It's been around in prototype for a while now. Why not on the market? who knows. Still working out production methods???? Don't really know, but am sure a folder requires much more work than manufacturing a straight blade and slapping some scales on it. Hope Jerry is able to overcome whatever obstacles are holding it up and gets it out to us soon. The Rat folder surprised many last year at Blade. Maybe this year a new surprise???? Or maybe............a carving set?

Don't even think about the folder, its just not worth the time or energy anymore :) When it comes great I'll jump right in line for one, but until then don't make any knife purchase plans based on waiting for it.

The photo of Bravado holding it is 100% real, trust me I was three feet away. Now keep in mind that was over two years ago...NOW keep in mind people were waiting for six years (no joke) before that photo.

I believe there is a folder. I also believe that will will see it in production...by the time my 16 month old is a freshman in college. :D:D:D:D

Please excuse my ignorance, but what niche does the Busse Folder fill? Their is the Active Duty, Jungle Defender, Skeleton Key, NARK, Leaner/Meaner Street, ARK, NIP, etc. I am new so their are probably way more, but the questian still stands, Busse makes so many quality EDC blades that I do not see why their is so much hype about "The Folder". All of these blade lengths that are mentioned above (to the best of my knowledge) fall within legal boundries. These blades also make ideal EDC blades for utility as well as urban defenive scenerios, or last ditch battlefield weapons.

Please enlighten me as to the reason why everyone is so gung-over a folding knife. Please, Please I do not mean to offend anyone here but I do not understand. I am sure a Busse folder would be, without competition, one if not the best folding knife on the market. Actually, I am totally sure it would leave Strider and CRK in the dust. I do not mean to offend either of these to comapnies, but once you have experienced Busse, their is no comaprison. If the Busse folder arrives on the market tommorrow, I would buy it in an instant for the simple reason that it would be an incredible blade.

I would just like your oppinion on the matter. Thanks everyone.

Peter La, first off you don't have to worry about getting jumped on because of posts like this one. Unlike other forums we don't fire nukes at posters unless it REALLY deserves it. Now there is thathamguy....but thats another story ;)

Anyways, back to your question. As for what "niche" would it fill, I would have to say nothing more than any other folder from a company that makes both. Fixed blades and folders fill different needs even though they can overlap in performing many applications. There is also the issue of some people preferring to carry a folder and some people prefer carrying a small fixed blade. In that situation it is simply user preference. In regards to Busse I think it fills the lack of choice between a fixed or folder to get the performance of INFI.

Thanks a lot Dark Nemesis, I have never really looked at it that way. I guess I am more a a fixed blade person, plus when I think of Busse I think fixed blades. Primarly because, when I go out into the bush I prefer a large fixed blade, i.e., my EU-17 Magnum (which should arrive Monday or Tuesady, I hope). Although, the Busse folder would fit nicely beside my shapening stone... You are completely right, INFI is the great equilizer between fixed blade and folder. As a side note, how long have all you veteran INFI seekers been waiting for the folder?

The folder will be ready in the usual two weeks.

In this case values of two weeks just happen to converge closer to infinity than average.

;)

I first asked about the Folder two years ago and since have gone and bought others while waiting. It's gonna be a bomb of a knife but I'm not waiting like a sick pup till it's available.

Guys,
Thanks for all the great input.

I wanted to jump in and answer a question Pete had...

Why would anybody ask Busse for a folding knife when there are so many great fixed blades in their line?

First...I am a fixed blade fan myself...I pretty much hate folding knives...
That being said...I do carry a Case Elephant Toenail everyday...everywhere I go...it does the cutting chores just fine...

Second, I can make whatever fixed blade I want to carry....but as you will see carrying it is the tough part...

I rarely wear pants. OK...let me re-state that....I wear bib overalls...in the words of Cleston Sinyard at the Blade show in Atlanta last year, "This is my suit of clothes!" He said it...As such....overall's make wearing a belt impractical...

So if I want to carry a knife...a folder w/ a pocket clip makes a bit more sense...especially when I am working under my truck and the case slips out on the ground and I play hell trying to find it...

And....things being what they are...a knife that has a blade a bit longer and stronger...may come in handy when you gotta cut something more than string...or cardboard boxes...right?

I hate to admit folders are a sometimes necessary tool to have...

Why Busse?

Cause I would rather give Jerry my money than somebody else...Ok?

No offense....Until Busse comes up with a folder I will carry a Spyderco Military...it will do ...but I thought I'd ask in case maybe a new model was going to be introduced in June...I could save my bread and spend when it was available...

Does that make sense?

BTW~ Jerry, Your guys were super nice at the Blade Show last year...
Good booth...good reps...hell I even like the shirts...looked like you guys should be a NASCAR sponsor! Can't you jus see it...over the PA ..."In The Black and Yellow Car...sponsored by BUSSE COMBAT...in the pole position...Dale Earnhardt Jr...." :D

Actually that ain't a bad idea...guys would be fighting to drive a car with a Big Ass Battle Mistress on the the side! I would! It would be a cool graphics..maybe some flames...or lightining bolts! Dang I should be a NASCAR rep!
