I was down at my local knife shop today and saw a darell ralph knife, with "ddr" on the blade. I assumed it to be one of the gunhammers. It had what looked to have been textured titanium handles and no odd holes in the blade. It was a/o as well. at the shop it was $300. So i came home expecting to find it on the internet for $150-$200. But I couldn't find one for less than $450. Anyone know this particular model? is it a good price? Honestly I've fell in love with the knife. I'll see if I can snap a pic next time I'm there.

Did it look like this?

If so, then 300 is about right. You will NOT find it for 150-200 since he charges around 270 depending on if it's assisted or not. This is an HTM Gunhammer, which is DDR's midtech, handmade series. The "odd holes" in the blades are only on the radian recurve blade profile. The ones priced at 450+ are his customs.

If you saw one that looked like:

than you were looking at the custom version. I don't want to quote prices on that one, but let's just say the one I'm getting which is based off that one is over 7 Bennies.

What's more confusing is that there are a few different versions that he calls Gunhammer. Some are framelocks. Others are linerlocks. The framelocks look a bit different. Note, any one of them has versions that have various handle and blade materials as well as different inlay options. Damascus handles, damascus blades, mammoth ivory inlays, carbon fiber inlays, etc. are all different options you can get.

Are you sure it wasn't a DDR HTM (Hand Tech Made, Darrel's mid-tech line) knife rather than a full custom? Those go for $250-300, and there's a HTM Gun Hammer with textured anodized aluminum handles that may have looked like titanium from a distance.

By the way, I got one of the HTM Gun Hammers about a month ago but sold it because I wasn't a fan of the A/O. My old exchange thread is here if you want to see pics to figure out if it was the same knife. (I already sold the knife, so I hope it's alright to link to the inactive/locked Exchange thread for the pics.)
