BTW, There's been lots of discussion about epoxy and resin in other threads and your handle material looks really professional. What do you use?

on this set i have used a fiberglass epoxy and it seems to work well its harder and stronger but it has a yellow tint so it cant be used with some of my lighter colors stuff like the kabar handle
all and all im still looing fro a one type does all epoxy
also the real trick is balance of epoxy and fabric so that it does get a good wet out and so far as clamping or usign a press is yes you can press too hard as i have done that too
to get this far i have trashed a bunch of mycarta and when i get somoe new different epoxy im sure ill pitch more
