I don't exactly know what they are, but is it normal to have dark lines on your blade. (They are located on the top and bottom of the hole.) Is there a way to get those lines out? What are they?
P.S. Sorry about the finger shadows on the blade.

Thanks,
George

Other than your shadowy fingers, I'm not seeing anything concerning. Maybe take a better pic?

It just looks like the end of the grind to me. I really don't see anything wrong.

Stainless steel means exactly that--it stains less. It's not stain free.

VG-10, in my experience, will get dark spots like that if you leave something corrosive sitting on the blade for a while. I carried a G-10 Endura for work every day when I worked in food service and I'd get condensation on the blade from sweat. Over time some areas of the blade darkened.

On my recently purchased R Nishijin, I cut some lemons and left some prepared horseradish on the blade for about 30 minutes. Now I have some dark splotches on the blade.

If you really wanted to get rid of them, just polish them out.
