Darkening color of micarta with dye?

hey guys. is it possible to use some sort of dye or something to darken the color of canvas micarta? just curious. any advice would be great. thanks

Hi,

No you won't be able to re-dye micarta slabs. The canvas is impregnated and coated with resin. So it would be pretty much like trying to dye a solid piece of plastic.

To Dalee, it is possible to dye plastic with fabric dye if I remember correctly.

yes, that is what I heard also. Does anyone know if this works? and how to do it?
