Guys, looking for info on darkening up the d2 on my CB Leek, I had some wear marks in the balde from a sharpening session gone awry so I hand sanded the blade and now I want to regain the 2 tone look on the blade. I'm at work for a while yet so not much chance of trying anything for a couple of weeks. Thought vinegar might work, but not certain if it'll touch the D2, anyone have a known way to darken this up?

Thanks, Phil

Thanks HJ, I might have to try some vinegar first, as there is no RadioShack or any other store for over 100 miles from my current location. I thought vinegar might do some darkening, but I was not sure if it would affect the CPM D2.

Well after dosing the blade with "Cholula" brand hot sauce and letting it sit over night wrapped up in a paper towel, I got it back to a nice medium-dark gray color, tried soaking in boiled white vinegar and it made no difference after 8 hours today.

yeah, don't have access to it offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. I will likely try that when I get home.
