Hi folks -

As you know, I twisted John Smith's arm at the last gathering in Mokena so he would make me a sheath for my Bloody Mary Knife (the prize for the BM Contest at the JK Gathering) -

John did an outstanding job on the sheath -

This week in the mail I received a nice letter from John and he had included this beautiful Key Fob with his new Leather Stamp!!

I wanted to share it with my friends here on the JK site, and also publicly thank John for the kind gift - it is going on my truck key fob so it will be with me all the time.

Thanks again and best regards

Nice to get hand made surprises - good looking and useful too.
I like the sheath. A few more photos please. I really like these simple unembellished sheaths
but I have seen few that do justice to the knife. May have to contact darkmatter myself.

And have you noticed that Rule # 9 is a regular feature of JKSupporter sig lines? It is very photogenic.

Sure - Thanks for the nice comments!

I took several pictures of the sheath. John used a couple of dyes to match the look of the torched oak from JK - I think he did a very good job of doing that, as well as making the edges of the sheath darker than the rest of the sheath as a subtle accent.

I do agree you see a lot of the RN9 - it is a great design - mine is just a little different.

Very nice. We certainly have some talented, generous folks around here.

Thanks for the extra photos Andy. I'm liking that sheath.
Contact info for darkmatter? He seems to like being in the dark - at least I can't find how to send him a PM.

I will pm his email address to you .

Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments. I just got back from my astronomy trip to New Mexico. Andy is a great person to work with and a great friend as are all my JK friends.

That's a real nice looking sheath! Good on you, Darkmatter!

Keep in touch Darkmatter. I have a feeling there are quite a few of us that would love to buy a sheath or two.

Yup - he's baaaaaack :). On my list of people to talk to soon.
I'll be in touch Mr. Matter.

Cool logo.
I assume since you're into star gazing it is either a comet or a shooting star eh?

Ya its a comet, they are one of my favorite objects to observe. Comets are not static objects and show movement among the stars in about one hour on average. Some of the faint comets can be vary elusive to hunt down. The bright comets are vary impressive.

Got pics?As in a camera attachment for the Telescope?

Well I don't do astro photography, but I sketch every object I observe. I have about three thousand objects sketched to date. For me sketching is fun and relaxing, also it really trains your eye to pick out fine details in faint objects.
