Am i seeing this right? It certainly looks like 2 tone G10 to me...

I'm pretty sure it's been well confirmed to be tan/black G10. I was a member of the group that thought micarta too but behind the scenes pics pretty much fixed that. That and I think the Busse crew even chimed in at one point.

Has there ever been one with black canvas handles with the competition finish blade

I think it changed to the B&T G10 in Season 2, pretty sure we narrowed it down in scenes when he was still searching for Carol's lost daughter. Season 1 was black canvas I *think* but Lexi confirmed that it was B&T after a point .... I believe ET did an interview with him and he said "when I was surfing BF and saw all the B&T G10 that Aussie guy had I knew that was for me, if only I could get the Prop guys to get me an ASH..... "

The real answer is obvious. Busse has the best warranty in the business, and that does not exclude a zombie apocalypse. Obviously, Daryl got tired of the same scales and sent it in for some changes by the Busse crew, who were able to survive easily with an unlimited army of Infi for protection!

+1 on the spot correct.

It was always Black and Tan G10 since the beginning.

I spy...with my one good eye... Black & Tan G-10, Black canvas micarta & Tan canvas micarta (iffy on this...). :) Pretty sure they swap them out depending on lighting, and the scene. Seems that for the visuals to us, it is almost always the B&T G-10 riding in the sheath. In hand, seems to be more the black canvas. Just my $0.02 though. This show has gone with muted and cooler colors, so it does make it harder to distinguish between them.

You spy stunt copies which are painted or cast in a material that is used to represent the handle material on the real knife. The hero has always been black and tan.
