Hey guys! Recently I finished a custom chef knife for a good friend in Manila. The knife is made of AEB-L high carbon stainless steel and tempered to 59HRC, with a design that was a sort of fusion between a French chef and a Japanese gyuto. I customized a pattern I call "Dasal" which literally translates to "Prayer" in Filipino. The patterns were inspired by woven textiles that pay homage to church, some cultural pieces I saw when I visited Pampanga after spending some time working in the province. I'd love to know what you guys think!
Some Blade specs:
- Blade material: AEB-L high carbon stainless steel AEB-L (59 HRC)
- Blade thickness: .110" (2.8mm)
- Blade finish: Hand rubbed satin
- Guard material: Yellow brass
- Handle material: 4-tone micarta burl
- Overall length: 12.5" (317.5mm)
- Blade length: 8" (20.32mm)
- Knife weight: 9.5oz (272.155g)
