date codes for 300 series stockmans??

is there a date code for the 300 series stockmans?...
i have this 301 that has the 301 on back side of blade.
here is front side....
date?

That should be from 1971 through 1974.

I think the date codes are the same as the other knives. At least they are on my 301 and 371 stockmans.

There are no date codes for the earlier knives, so you have to use certain characteristics of the knife to get a date.

For JD and FishHunter,

Bert is giving you good info. There have been threads in the past on talking how to age both contract made (pre-86) 300s and dated (post 86) Buck made models. If you can't find the information I could try to put something together for you to view. Bert could also...but its cold in WY.

Here are the characteristics that place this in 1971-1974: Camillus/ blade rivets visible/ no handle pins/ stamp: Made in USA with model number on pile side. If you look at the back of the knife you should see a brass spacer on one side.

300Bucks was right. It was chilly here on Sunday, 29 degrees at 6:30 in the morning. Today it is 95 with 8% RH.
