Date of manufacturing question?

Is there anyway to know the manufacturing date of the emerson knives, by looking at the end box label? I know how to date Spyderco, but am at a lost with Emersons. Thanks in advance.

I looked at my Emerson box from years ago and could find no date code. My blade is marked as a 1999 unit as part of the Emerson insignia. Others more knowledgeable might know more...
