Date on the box

Saw this question in another thread and figured I would start a new one to answer it.
The date on the box label is the date they program into the computer. Not trying to be a smart alec but that part is pretty black and white.

9 out of 10 times, that date is the current date, and its for knives coming off the line that day. There are exceptions to every rule but for the most part, as the knives roll off the line, they are packed into labled boxes, right then.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Joe,
That's what I was wondering.
I've heard of some boxes coming with knives stamped the prior year, buildouts I presume.
My sister ordered a knife for me for my birthday/christmas, it didn't make it in time for my birthday as it was back ordered, she gave it to me on Christmas and the date on the box was my birthday(she didn't catch it), I thought that was kinda cool, so it made me wonder.

Thanks for the info Joe!

Brother Dave (PBD) had sent me a pair of the Buck single blade slippy's and the born on date printed on the box is my birth day.....that's way cool.

Thanks again Dave!
