Hey everyone. Got a quick question. I've got a Small Sebenza 21. Born on April 14th 2010 that I purchased on the forums. It's got A09 stamped on the front scale and B10 on the liner scale. Is that normal? I guess the scales were just not machined at the same time.

Have a nice weekend everybody.

Here is info from my CRK Timeline Sticky, check it out !

A slabs made from January-April
B slabs made from May-August
C slabs made from September-December

So A99 would be made in say February of 1999; B03 would be made say June 2003; C09 would be made say November 2009............It goes like that, just examples !

They make the scales and stamp them. Then when they make knives, they grab 2 scales and go to work. There are times at the end of a run form the "A" batch where one is left over. They are definately going to use it, so this is when you see one from one batch, and one from another. This happens every once in awhile on new ones. probably more often on pre-owned ones as people switch things around. Not saying that happened to this one. It is very possible it left CRK this way.

Thanks for info.... Yeah I knew about the stamp coding. That's how I figured they weren't machined at the same time. Just hoping it was something very special that I can sell for MUCHO cash to get some more Chris Reeve. Have to feed the need.

Seriously, thanks. It's my first one so just wasn't sure.

It would be great if we could do this wouldn't it? All 3 of my small sebenzas (all 3 were bought new) have different Letters and years. :o

Now if there was only a way to feed the addiction....
