I had a long post about seeing dates on Himalayan Imports blades, me not being known for ANY long postings I deleted it...

So is there anyone else here who would like to see a month and year marking on the blade besides me?

I dunno.

My Sarges have enough writing on them to resemble city bus advertising. Granted, they are smaller blades.

I'd just as soon only see the symbol( e.g., Bura's half moon), the HI script, and no english lettering.

Sort of less is more, you know?

I think HI tried doing just that. It didn't take. HI also tried using serial numbers and we all know how that turned out.

To be honest I think that the blades have too many markings on them already. Kami initials, symbols that are constantly getting switched, etc. I don't like the overabundance of markings as it ruins the aesthetic quality of the blades. I wish they only had the Devanagari script and the "U.B."

I have to say that I agree. I'd rather see only a *correct and uniform* makers mark and "HI" in Devanagari script.

It's not like they have a time limited warrenty or a best by date.

.

The dates would not really be for short term it's more for like when your grandkids get them. These are going to last a long long time so dates could help years from now.

I'm another one for minimal writing on the khuks. Also gotta remember the kamis don't read or write, at least most of 'em. No telling what kind of dates we would be getting, sure wouldn't be the cute red haired girl from around the corner or the blond next door.;)

Edit:
Besides most of us have electric pencils or can afford one. Write the dates you get them on the spine or somewhere, problem solved for those who want dates.:D
