Google-Fu has led one of my knifey-pals here in UK the following info but they’d like to confirm if anyone can help accurately age this Camillus…. Pattern 33 easy opener Jack with spear point blade and no shield boss seems to have been in production around 1946, latter patterns seem to have the shield. Anyone know if this is a correct dating of 1946 or earlier? Any help most gratefully received.

3 line tang stamp is post 1947, if memory serves. I think 1947 was the final year of the "late" (no date code) 4 line tang stamp.
(The "early" 4 line with date code was used in the 19-teens(?) to 1930's)

The tang stamp is the best way to get a date range. Camillus used a different model designation prior to "33" then the year "33" was stamped on the blades is the earliest date possible.

I have a late 4 line EO "Navy Knife" identicle to the 33. No numbers are on the pile side blade tangs.
