Dating a Kalinga

just picked up a Kalinga..Is there any way to date this knife? This one has a "X" after the USA..noticed on the auction site some have the "X" and some do not. This is one of those knives I have been searching for for years...finally pulled the trigger. Pictures when it arrives.

Thanks, I was guessing that might be the case. What confused me was the "X" is after the 'USA" and I am used to seeing the date code after the model number. and most of the Kalingia's I have looked at do not have any mark after the "USA"
I did look at the 1990 catalog on the BCCI site but the picture was not clear enought to see the tang markings.
