I just purchased the Al Mar Striker knife at a gunshow yesterday. Can anyone help with dating the knife? The person that sold it to me said it was one made before Al Mar passed on because it has the Al Mar "chop" stamped into the metal. The knife has brown wood handles that may or may not be some kind of laminate. It's really hard to tell.

Sagebrush, a close friendship with your knife is one thing, but "dating" is going a bit too far...

Sorry, couldn't resist.

i'd take it out for dinner. take things slow. and for goodness sake, don't use the knife that comes with your meal to cut your steak.new knives can be prone to jealousy.dance with the one what brung ya'!

I'm not familiar with the striker model but Al Mar used titan wood on some models. It's the same as pakkawood,a birch/phenolic laminate.Hope this helps you.
