I have two Kershaw model 1030 Deer Hunters and each have different sheaths and different markings. One has a single strap sheath and all the markings are on one side of the blade. The other has a sheath with double retainer straps. One side of the blade is marked "Kershaw", while the other side is marked "1030 Japan." Anyone have any idea which one was made first and/or when the markings changed? Is this model still made?

the single strap one is the earliest , the double strap is the latest and I think there was one in between. Sometimes the sheaths are stamped, Lake Oswego would be on the earliest ones, then Wilsonville, then Tualatin, but I don't recall ever seeing a Tualatin stamped sheath. The knife is still made to this day, however it is the only fixed blade in that series to still be made. There were originally six models made. Hope this answers your question.
