I just bought a SwissChamp via e-bay. It seems to still have the factory lube on the hinge points, but the questions below have me wondering its age.

PUBLISHED DATA & INFORMATION:
Victorinox's current website lists their SwissChamp (1.6795) as having: "pliers with - wire cutter - wire criming tool".

Smartknives.com states: "The 1992 version of the Victorinox SwissChamp Swiss Army knife ... its scissor blades are attached with an adjustable screw, instead of a fixed rivet." Reference this site: http://www.smartknives.com/Victorinox-Knives/Victorinox-SwissChamp-1992.htm

MY SWISSCHAMP:
[1] pliers do NOT have "- wire cutter - wire criming tool".
[2] "scissor blades are attached with an adjustable screw"
[other info] mine has NO grooves on the corkscrew.

QUESTIONS:
[a] When might mine have been manufactured, early to mid 90's?
Does it have an even more specific name or model number?

Your SwissChamp has a hook on the backspring and that was not added until 1991 (same year as the pin). I believe (but am not absolutely sure - prehaps someone else can confirm?) the crimpers on the pliers were added in 1993.

So it would seem that this particular SAK was either a 1991 or 1992 model?

Not sure re the EDC. I mean, turns out it is somewhat 'vintage', having the screw and earlier-style pliers. And it is in A++ condition. So, it may be a little while until I transition past its pristine beauty and move onto enjoying its utility. For the moment, my Explorer vies with my Voyager for EDC status. I am comfortable carrying any of the 3 in my pocket.
