I picked up a nice vintage 110 yesterday, and I have been searching though old post trying to get a better idea of it's age.

It has the tang stamp of:

Buck
110
U.S.A.

No dots, (which I think dates it near 1973?)

Steel spacer between the rear bolsters, and the brass bolsters are somewhat more "square" than newer 110's.

Am I in the right ballpark with the early 70's date?

I believe those markings indicate manufacture from 1972-1974
I have a two dot and I believe it was manufactured beginning in 1974 until 1980.

Jake,
If the tang stamp is read with the knife pointing down, it is probably from sometime in 1971 or 1972. If it is read with the knife pointed up, it is most likely from 1972 - 1974 before they added the two dots (one per side of the model number). Hope this helps. By the way, inverted three liner 110s (those stamped to read with the knife pointed down) are fairly hard to locate - especially if you want one in excellent or better condition. They just did not make very many of these.
