Hello all you fine porch dwellers! Just an update about my girl! I posted about my girls trip around the world as a missionary. She is currently in Botswana Africa and out of touch as she is ministering in the "bush" living in her tent and spreading the news about Jesus to the locals through various means as simple as cleaning up the church building to helping around the village and playing with the kids. Last timed I talked to her she had used the Glennbad modified TL-29 for little tasks and she told me again that she sure was glad she had it. I also sent her out with a set of mini vice grips and she has said that those have earned their keep in her permanent gear (along with what used to be my knife) Sorry for the rambling hopefully this didn't offend anyone but her mom and I sure are proud of her and thanks for the prayers.

Marty

Glad to get an update. :)
It sounds like she is making a difference, and creating memories to last a lifetime. :)

I had wondered what you were going to send with her, and what an honor to have one of my mods along with her. I hope it is serving her well, and that she is doing well on her mission. Thanks for providing this update, Marty!

Chuck Buck use to have the factory assemble all extra parts into folding knives. Some might have a odd blade or two front scales. He then sent them to missionaries in the 'Bush' to give away. They would mark them by grinding a notch in the end of one bolster.
So if you ever see a notched odd Buck you know it was lost on the way to the mission field....300Bucks

Man that’s awesome. To make the sacrifice to spread the gospel of Jesus to places like that, remote, uncomfortable and possibly even dangerous is a big deal. Good for her and will keep her in my prayers!

Get her one of the smaller Okapi knives as a souvenir when she returns. Did this for our little church group that went to South Africa last year and they were much appreciated (they are available on line over here for not much money). A useful reminder of the trip that also supports the local economy in South Africa.

Thanks for the update, Marty, and God's speed to her and all the others around the world doing His work.

You must be very proud, popech47. And rightfully so. Thanks for the update .....and merry Christmas to you and yours!

I think that sometimes our biggest contributions to life are in the small things we do for others. Her acts of kindness will be remembered and have an impact long after she returns home. Thanks for sharing.

Prayers for her safety, and tell her thanks for her service.
Great choice of tools to send with her.
