Dave Beck WSK Question

That is the final version of that knife. I don't think that David is making knives anymore.

I had a long talk with Dave last night, I usually call him every few months.
A little update on Dave and his "Tracker".

As we know Dave has some health problems, he still has to make a living so he is in another line of work right now. However, he still has his shop and will work on a knife for a friend or an old customer from time to time. We talked about the Tracker, Dave made a little over 600 of them, most were made from 01 carbon, some from ATS34 some from 440C and four to six out of D2. However he made ONE out of damascus. Now for the good news. Dave still has a number (and I wont say how many) of Trackers profiled out and are hanging on his shop wall, all of them are in 01, some are pre 2000 and some are after 2000, the differance is the grind of the blades and some are full tang and some are hidden tang. I wont go into all the details now but let me say Dave in time is going to finish all the Tracker blanks that he has IN TIME.
I dont know his time line on this but it will get done. I dont know how he will put them up for sale, maby Ebay? I dont know. I do know that they wont be cheap. I also know that I am going to be in line for one. As I get more info from Dave I will let you know.

I'm sure Dave will have no trouble selling all those knives.

One made from pattern welded steel, eh? That is going to be quite the collectors item.
