Hey Dave noticed you lurking, ya gonna say hello to the cantina now that you got yer first khuk :D :p

I'm afraid rumors of my close relationship to God may be just that- rumors.

That reminds me, I have a great line about Jesus I'm saving for when my fat's really on the fire. (naturally, I mean in-forum, rather than after having been cast down into Hell, in which case I understand it is much too late.)

I don't know what all this "celebrity" talk is about, it's just me, good ol' Dave. Federico ("Fred" to us Eskrima brothers) can take credit for steering me to this place. Thus, my first khuk (first blade of any kind), one of the WWII models that was on sale for 1/2 price. (Mr. Martino - the check's in the mail, really!) I have lots to learn, I suspect y'all will be hearing from me...

See Dave the first dip posting in the Cantina aint too bad, Bruise only looks like he's frosting at the mouth  :D :p Dont forget to post a report on how the khuk handles once you get around to testin it. Though hopefully there will be no need to chase suiters yet, though you have the training for it  :D

Welcome Dave...

Visit often, wear old clothes, and sometimes, high boots.

Welcome Dave!

Listen to Kismet. :D Really, this is the best forum on the web. Some of the nicest people you'll meet anywhere in the world.

Fred and I have been joking about the "suiters" thing for a while. My older daughter turned 13 this week, and having a few intimidating - looking blades around to impress the boys sounds kinda fun. I picture myself sharpening one of them when a kid comes over, testing it and testing it... :D

Welcome to the cantina!!

I have a 13 year old daughter, too. She has her own pointy things....including a Cherokee Rose, a Katana and a couple others. I'll let her sharpen her own knives when the time comes   :D Although, mom will be handy with her own....if I ever get the knack of this sharpening business

I can the thread starting now: "What's the best khuk for intimidating suitors?".

Welcome, Dave, and please consider the UBE for the task. It's not the biggest, but it sure looks wicked.

I tested my new 18" WWII this weekend. I had a dead plum tree in my back yard, about 2 1/2" diameter. Took her down effortlessly, much easier than a hatchet would have been. Did a nice job of chopping the roots when I dug up the stump, too. It felt very solid and controllable, as good as advertised!

Now, when those boys come over, I can truthfully say, "this is my khuk, and she's my friend...". Should be great fun!
