This is one that got Dave accepted into the Knifemakers Guild......stunning materials and craftsmanship.

3 1/8" carbon-Damascus blade and file-worked back-spacer, 3 metal Mokume Gane bolsters, ano'd and textured ti liners, outrageous Mammoth ivory with a superb Australian Fire Opal inset into the bronze thumb-stud.....smooth as silk, razor sharp and perfect lock-up.

Not only are Dave's knives amazing, so is his leather-work......as fine and well done as it gets.

Good for you, Dudley!!!! I told you so. Dave's work is nothing short of amazing, both steel and leather.

Very nice folder.
Glad you introduced Dave Kelly's work here.
Hunter, Bowie, Folder all very impressive.

Dudley, that is a beautiful knife!

Dave's work is not only top notch but unique...his sense of style is unmistakable!

I had a chance to handle this knife and to be honest I was floored...it is gorgeous.

Congrats to both owner and maker! :D

There is always something in the design of your knives, Dave,
that instantly gives away the fact that they were made by you!

Stay well,
David Darom (ddd)

Very nice folder. Great mokume, beautiful mammoth ivory. The only thing I don't like is the opal in the thumbstud.

Kind regards,

Jos

That IS a beautiful knife, but there are two things that would prevent it from being at the highest level for fit and finish.

One, in the first picture, there is a chip at the back edge of the mammoth scale. I know that it is typical to have imperfections, but I know of a few knifemakers that make high end folders, that would not leave that the way it is.

Second, the name looks like it was scratched there with a nail.

I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but those details stand out to me right away.

Just my opinion FWIW.:D

Peter

Yeah, and did you see all of those cracks in that ivory and all of the 'stains' on it, too?!?

What is the world coming to????
