I'm posting these pictures for my buddy P. K. (bgspecialk). He will no doubt enter into the discussion at least to mention how much better the sheath is than one of mine. Actually there are two sheaths pictured. The first is a blade sheath with shark inlay and the second showing only the back is a pouch sheath. Heck, they probably are better than mine!!!!!

Edited to add: as a result of Coop's post below, let me make it VERY clear. Dave Kelly made these sheaths!!!!!! and I am darned proud of him.

Beautiful knife and some seriously first rate stag. Haven't seen a knife of his yet that I didn't like - a LOT. Could have sworn the sheath was yours, Paul - and I mean that as compliment to Dave.

Paul, you are a man of talent and class--much like Paul K. and Dave K.

You did not make perfectly clear that the sheaths on display are Dave Kelly's creations, and as a fellow sheathmaker, how much you can admire his work.

This says a lot about two things: The quality of Dave's work (apparent) and your character (also apparent).

Thanks for the looks!

Coop

Paul L , Paul K and Dave just fantastic work congrats to all .. dave could not have gotten a better inspiration for his sheath style that you PL.. His knives are clearly a step above and are always fantastic

I usually don't care that much for small hunters, but that is one damn nice knife. And that stag is gorgeous. The leatherwork rounds out one outstanding package!

Dave's hunters are lovely, and appearantly matched by his leatherwork. P.K. scores again.

If and when I win the fricken' Mega-Millions, I am callin' up Dave. I love his blades, and by golly... the sheaths rock too! Nice work Dave!

Another awesome hunter by Dave. Really liking his work. Will he be at Blade?

Congrats P.K.

When I think of a knife maker that provides the whole package , Dave Kelly is the first one that comes to mind , hard to tell if he is a knifemaker who also makes sheaths , or a sheath maker who makes knives , either way you stack it , both compliment each other perfectly.

Nice work Dave.

Great looking knife - exceptional leatherwork - very nice package

That is some of the nicest looking stag I've seen in awhile.

Wow, that's a beautiful combo. The knife and sheath are both awesome.

Paul thanks for posting the pics.

Every time Dave makes another one of these he just keeps getting better and better.

Aren't you glad we got in early. :D

If my information is correct there are four of this pattern with stag that exist. Each of those has some little feature or embellishment difference that actually makes each a one of a kind.

Paul

Thanks very much!!

Looks like I sent PK the wrong photo of the pouch sheath, thought I was sending the front view :o

Think it was 4, 5 sheaths ago I wanted to see what the top sheath makers were doing, there was Mr. Long (Jack Russell Leather) and I didn't need to look any further for inspiration. Paul's been very generous with his knowledge, I think he should host some leather-ins!:)
You know how deceiving photos can be Paul, maybe a few more years of practice and hopefully I'll come close to the quality of yours!

Hey Dwight, I have a couple projects that are just about finished then we could talk about that folder, if you're still interested.

Thanks again you guys!!
Dave

Think you're right about that Paul, four are based on the same pattern with stag but each one a little different.
