while everyone was getting ready for Blade 2007, I spent time finding some additions to my collection of which this fine example of David Broadwells talents is now displayed.

I have long been trying to get a David Broadwell piece and this one has wonderfully colored Mammoth Ivory with carved blued fittings at the guard and butt holding a John M Smith Damascus Maiden Hair pattern blade of 9" with an OAL of 15".

Wow, looks like another visit is in order. That is spectacular! I just love Broadwell's big blades - flowing, organic lines that are all his own.

Hi Murray,

This is David at his prime. I love how the sculpting fans and splays out at the handle, again at the guard in a vertical stance, and then it changes direction again in the blade--BUT it reverses the splay pattern. Subtle and clear.

The colors, materials and overal styling is superb. Once again, you captured a masterpiece! Thanks for your crystal clear images. :)

Yes, Keith, it is the third one he did and the first fighter he carved. Great knife though as normally is the case with David's knives. I have been working on getting one for a number of years. half the fun is the search.
