My family celebrated my B-day yesterday and I got a great haul of blades and gear. My wife and son gave me a David Farmer Dangerous Curves to go with Custom Golok that I already had. The DC is beefier than the golok and, feels more like a traditional chopper than the golok (its about 5 Oz. heavier on my crappy kitchen scale). Both are absurdly sharp and have great grips. Here are some comparison pics:

Well Happy Birthday for starters!

And congratulations on the DC, that is a nice looking blade. Both of those are great looking. I don't have anything like that, but keep thinking about that niche.

You've got me thinking even harder now.

Congrats and happy birthday. I think I like the beef a bit better...."Where's the beef" - "Oh there it is :D :D :D"....I don't suppose they both fit that wonderful KG sheath do they?

I love how David is putting thicker handles on that Golok now! My original handle was more like the one on the right. Man I love that knife!

Congrats M, and Happy belated birthday!

Thank you. I recommend these Farmer's, they are special.

Thanks. Beef is good, but I like the golok too. I have been wearing the hell out of that thing (the golok), it's so light that you don't notice you are wearing it. The KG sheath does not fit the the DC, Sierra has more work to do....

Tony - I really like the golok, it has made me re-think my preference for blade thickness on a big blade. What kind of sheath do you have for yours?

Happy Birthday, mn.

Doc

Doc - Thank you, another year on the right side of the lawn, a lot to be thankful for.....

David has a knack for making a simple handle shape as comfortable as is possible.

nice chopper
buzz

Yep, he does. I've handled the golok more than the DC at this point, but the grip is outstanding. The edge isn't bad either:D.

Both blades are incredible. Are you having a special sheath made for this one?
Oh, yeah happy birthday.

Oh, she will.

I'll be calling on her..... If this had worked out differently, in terms of when I got them, I would have asked her to make me one that fit both. I guess everyone should have such dilemnas in life...

I got to see Tonys Farmer at the Gossman Campout, and it is a great knife. I have several of Davids knives, and they are great users. I need to get a chopper from him.
