HERE'S THE KNIFE

6 3/4 in OAL with a 3 in blade. They will be O1. It has a slim profile. This one is in L6 and desert ironwood. I believe this is David's first new offering of '09

Oh wow I feel like a kid on Christmas day. I cannot express how happy I was to find out I was to receive the actual first of David's knives of 09, the prototype of his new design, and in presentation grade ironwood in L6. I thought maybe I will keep this one aside, kind of a collectors thing. That is out of the norm for me. I use everything. Naturally when the Mrs told me I had a package arrive today I was a wee bit excited to get home and open it.

I can honestly say that pictures do not do this one justice. MY pictures definitely do not! However I wanted to get this post up and I will try to add better ones later. Initial impressions were very good. The grind lines on this one including a small swedge at the top are dead on. Fit and finish of the scales are excellent. The place this knife seems to really shine for me is how it feels in hand. Being a very thin handle, I was shocked at how comfortable this knife is! It feels very solid in hand and feels like I should be able to get some serious power into my cuts with it. I am looking forward to giving this one a workout and it probably won't leave my hip for quite a while. Nevermind that idea of it staying aside!

I will try to follow up with later impressions but I definitely think anyone that wants a kick ass user or likes Farmer Knives should add this one to their collection. :D

There a lot of really nice folders out right now but I can't argue with you. I switched to fixed blade for "every day" probably a year ago and love it. :)
