David Lisch is popping up on a lot of folks' radar these days, and rightly so. I was very pleased to shoot this example for friend and fellow collector, Jon Klein.

Flying dragons abound in this unique damascus steel. It's a large knife too. The blade is 10 inches with a 5.5 inch primo (really PRIMO) stag handle featuring an end-cap of the same steel. Sheath is by Paul Long.

Buddy

great foto - you are 100% right about the fine details in the mosaic patterns like this !!

Dave is really keeping the pedal to the metal.....I have a integral Gyuto in the pipeline with a similar type pattern :D

VERY nice knife in every way. AWESOME damascus, stag, profile and the buttcap tops it off nicely! Then there is the usual great work on the sheath.

EXCELLENT photo Buddy.

Great knife. Dave keeps getting better and better. (I do wish his friends would stop teaching him stuff. And you know who you are... Mike Q.!!!)

And let's just say that Mr. Flynn's damascus Gyuto is half of a "similar pattern" ;-)

Ha ha

Michael has "inside" information on that Gyuto.........

In fact, it will be yet another of the fabulous collaborations between he and Dave -

you guys just keep raising the bar.....and as Martha Stewart says " That's a Good Thing !":thumbup::thumbup:

Bill

just don't take investment advice from her ;)

Awesome is the word on this one, all around, including Paul's sheath.

Saw the knife in person, and it's just amazing.

Buddy's done a great job showing knife and details.

Serious POP in the Popcorn and stunning steel.

Great get Mr. K and great work Mr. L.

Great piece. Like the gnarly stag.
I have long considered Dave a top innovator in pattern welding steel.

Dave's damascus always impresses, but his dragon-themed pieces really float my boat. This is a gorgeous knife, beautifully photographed. Hats off to all.

Thank you all . Buddy what a great job you did showing this knife. Thank you for all the work you put in on this project. Paul, thank you for your fine sheath. And Jon Thank you for seeing the value in my work. I call this knife Birth of the Dragons as it starts a series of fighting dragon knives. Peter got the first flying dragon knife. And I thought if Flying Dragons are cool then Fighting Dragons are even cooler, so I added dark dragons to the mix, the forces of good and evil in a battle to the death. this knife in my mind starts it off as the Dragons fly from their caves to start the battle. These are the crazy things I think about when I lay up my steel. More Fighting Dragons to come and some other stuff too.

Wow! I was diggin' this knife a whole lot based on the insane damascus, crazy corn on the horn, and that end cap with the interdimentional gate/vortex pattern in the damascus.

Then I read David's story behind the design and it adds to my enjoyment. Great knife, sheath, and photograph! I'm glad it is in safe hands with Jon, congrats my friend!

Dave....I think you've opened the portal of awesomeness.

That is one sweet, sweet blade matched with some killer stag. Great job Dave.

Michael R - Dave and I are teaching each other, trying to improve our knives.
