Some of you may remember my brother from another mother had a client hunt in Africa with no other than the famous PH John sharp

When David first got the request to make John a knife he called me and asked if I had heard of him.

I said hell yea and proceeded to tell him that Mr Sharp had been at it for awhile and had quite the reputation as an incredible PH

Well Mr Sharp wanted a knife similar to what he had seen the client using.

David of course fixed him up and just recently got word from John and some pics from the bush

Obviously Mr Sharp knows quality, by the looks of his double and the quality of the animals he guides on

I would expect nothing else when it comes to his choice of cutlery :)

This is going to be a big year for David and I am very excited to see what he has been working on

He is really excelling with his interpretation of Classical Japanese cutlery. With his own blend of Mirabile magic and a healthy dose of what made the great blades of old great

I will be showing some Wakizashi size pieces in the next few months and possible even doing some testing with one :)

Stay tuned for some wicked steel

Nice! When I ordered a knife from David I asked for the same blade shape as this one. I love mine. It feels alive in the hand.

I will ask but by the look of it I would say cable Damascus

One of David's favorite mediums

Cable is also Bill Bagwells choice also

I really like it and have a few cable blades

Can't say I agree much at all.

Agreed.

First, let me say that David made a fine looking knife for Mr. Sharp.

These are sanctioned hunts led by professional hunters, the money that it brings into African coffers is much needed, as is the meat the guides get to eat.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Pretty sad killing those beautiful animals.

1. You are right, a little sadness is one of the elements in the killing of anything.
2. You were warned in the thread title that there was dead animal content, and could have avoided opening the thread.
3. Read STeven's post again. There is much gain and little if any waste.
4. If left to Nature's rules, they would still die, albeit much more violently and/or slowly.
5. Your input here is welcome, but don't be too surprised if you are severely outnumbered.

Man I don't even have to watch my threads anymore my boys got my back :)

Thanks guys

As for you Mr Westflorida

I respect your Vegan ways and salute you for your life choices...... because I know someone would never be so remotely ignorant to say something like that if he used any animal byproducts let alone wore leather or ate meat :)

Joe, don't you know that boneless, skinless chicken breasts grow on vines? I have a pork chop tree in my back yard. ;)

I'm a big fan of David Mirabile's damascus steels. The blade steel on this very special knife is a chainsaw damascus hand forged by the man himself. Cheers!

Oh he'd be pissed if I didn't mention it was a 100 # war bow :)

The 100 pounder is the "medium" weight Welsh longbow. What that means is that your tendons don't pull away from the bone as quickly and you don't get as much of the hunchback look.;)
