After much anticipation and waiting, the Beck Wilderness Survival Knife is finally ready for sale!!!!

This is the knife that is seen and used in the movie "The Hunted".

There is a picture and some information in the Makers "for sale" forum. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=250307

There are lots of pictures, information and order forms on the website at www.beckknives.com

I have seen and handled these new W.S.K.s and the pictures and descriptions don't do them justice. The finish is gorgeous! They are some of the best work I have ever seen Dave do. If you want the best of the best there is only one choice!

IS it possible to get a shot of one in the hand Jaeger?

Nice one Mr. Beck!

Placed my order two days ago. The second it hit Dave's web page. Can't wait, very excited. :D :D Got the WSK and the companion, sent the $$ off yesterday morning Priority 3day. Can't Wait...:D Got order conf. 2 to 3 weeks...:D

You have to see the finish in person to get the full effect. It is really cool!

I got my order in as well and at the same time had a great conversation with the man himself. Money is going out on Friday and soon to follow will be my W.S.K.

I have been using the TOPS model since last May.
It will be interesting to compare my TOPS model with the "original".

Clearly comparing from the pictures, the Beck will WIN hands down. Again, not that the TOPS is not good, but you simply just can't beat the "original" design by the "original" maker.

The attention to detail, amount of time and technique put into these blades is phenomenal. There is no way you could go wrong getting one.

Thanks for going forward with this project Dave!!

Vermonter, I would like to see your comparison of the Tops and the Beck's after you put it thru it's paces. I know I'm not alone. Please post ir if you can.
Regards
Tom

I can promise that you WILL see the comparison. I don't want to sound one way, but I have a feeling it's not even going to be a fair contest.

Very exciting!!

I would have to agree with that assesment. I have not gotten my WSK yet but a friend of mine has one of Dave's old Trackers from the early 90's. I got to play with it a bit next to the TOPs and it was just so much more. Just felt better in my hand. Chopped better, sawed better. Didn't have a chance to really compare them the way I would have liked but the little I do get to do it was the Beck Original hands down. Thats why I ordered the WSK and I don't already have a TOPs. Waited a while but it's on it's way.

Ric

P.S.
Glad your back Dave!!

That's a great looking finish! Glad to see this knife for sale again!

Can't wait to see the comparison with the Tracker either! ;)

Great to see we did not lose this knife. It would have been a shame if Dave had decided not to continue making it.

I've yet to be priviledged enough to handle the original, although I was quite fortunate to get to handle the TOPS version last night.

Truth be known, I wanted to hate it. The darn things are trendy due to the movie. Bah!! They have steep curvatures on the blade. Double Bah!! It's got one of those stupid sawbacks. Everyone knows they don' make those worth a damn on knives... It's $300 damn dollars for a sheet of 1095...YECH! BAH!! PHOOEY!!

Well....gosh darn it...I actually liked the thing!! Definitely enough forward weight to be a good chopper, you could grip the blade for dressing and skinning, the sawback was freakin' cool, and looked like it would be easy to sharpen, and I liked the thinner edge towards the rear of the blade. Looked like it'd be real handly for woodshavings an' miscellaneous small blade stuff. SOB was heavy as heck, and obviously bombproof. If I were cut loose in the woods with only one damn knife to survive with...I wouldn't feel in the least underknifed with that thing. And with all the drawknife talk, etc. it sounds as though I only recnognized five percent or so if it's capabilities...

My point of typing all this in a thread about the original?? If the original is as drastic a step up in quality from the TOPS version as y'all seem to feel it is, I don't wanna be near the thing. I'll be selling off what few firearms I've got left to pick the blasted thing up!

I can't wait for you guys to get your knives. Then you'll be able to see what I have been raving about. I know I can't wait to get mine!!! My only complaint is that the finish is so nice it will be a shame to marr it with use!

Gundy, I hope you can work out your importation problems. One of these beauties has your name written all over it!

Can this knife be ordered in any other type of steel? As in some type of stainless steel?

I know this is a very old thread but did he start making blades again? Theres a Beck, made by a Beck, on a auction site that shall remain nameless.
I spy a new website as well noting the WSK will be available again soon.
