This is a project I've been working on the last few weekends for a friend/MO knife maker/and a brand new first time dad to a really cute little bouncing baby boy that looks just like his old man. ;) David's been staying home with his wife the last two week's helping take care of them so I finally got this thing done today with the help from the new owner/dad of the press, David Rice and another maker by the name of Terry Barnett. Hope you enjoy the picture.
I kind of painted it so the new baby boy might like to play with dad's big red toy when he gets a little older.

If that ain't a bunch of crap, you never even offered to paint mine, geez. Looks like your finally getting these things figured out, I'm surprised you could do that by yourself. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Nice Job DH,

Bill

Mike, yes Richard did get a new service truck. at least it's new to him anyway.

B.H. I'm about to get these presses figured out I think, two or three more and I'll be a seasoned pro at putting them together. See you at the hammer-in Be sure and bring the better looking half of your partnership with you and I ain't talking about your pet Monkey. LOL

Wow, looks great Ron! Is that a 5x8 cylinder on it or a bigger one? Also, what is that big piece of equipment in the background?

:)

Nice work...dazzling to say the least....that looks like a lift truck in the background.

You gave the little kid a choice between a little red wagon and a red metal muncher ???

Darren, The cylinder is a 5"x10" & yes that is a lift truck in the background. It's my brothers shop that's close by and he has lots of big boy toy's like cranes, lift trucks & several fork lifts. Everything a wanna be knife maker could ask for if he like's to build things and I doooooooooo.

Mete, I figured he'd probably be like his dad and go for the press at an early age to get an early start on knife making.:D

Very nice -- I'll bring my press frame up to the hammer-in and you can just make it run for me while I'm there. ;)

Seriously, that is some fine work.

My thanks to Ron for all his hard work in making this press go together. Without his experience (and his brothers shop) it would have taken me a LONG time to complete myself (if not forever). Ron did an outstanding job as you can see. We will be using it at Ron's hammer in coming up for those in Missouri.
We went with red, although Terry REALLY wanted to paint it silver and tell all the forumites it was constructed from pure aluminum just to stir things up. That would have been a fun thread....
