So this was originally a buddy of mine's score at Bladeshow, but... well... you know how it goes, stuff comes up, other things are made available and I was able to bum this off him. I've been a fan of David Sharp for a few years, I briefly had one of David's very first frame locks, and would have kept that one if it'd be dual thumb stud, so I could have operated it with my lefty disability. So along came the Tryfer...
'
Specs:
Blade: 3.5"
OAL: 8.5"
Steel: CPM154
Weight: 6.4oz
The Tryfer is an aggressive knife. There's no bones about it. Whip this open in a crowded room and you're gonna garner some attention. Everything from the recurve, to the massive-moby-dick-slaying harpoon on the blade, to the rear quillon, to the protruding backspace... It's just a monster.
The carbon fiber work on the handle scale is flawless. Finished and contoured to be comfortable in hand. The shaping locks it into your grip, both in regular and reverse grip.
The lockside is slick, but the part that I really want to point out is... the CLIP the 'milled-bendy' clip. It's perfect.
Let's spend some time up here though... That blade... *shivers* damn... That's all.
The backspacer is really cool, it extends from the scales giving a very three dimensional look to the entire knife. And the lanyard clip is a great touch.
and lastly... in hand. Anyway, hope you all dig it. Thanks!
