Are these beautiful knives durable enough to use? The inlays look incredible, but I was wondering if they are intended for the heavy use a typical 110 gets or are they just for display?

Yes - they are durable enough to use.

I have seen some that people send back after years of use to get them cleaned back up and they seem to hold up very well.

I would have no compunction about using the ones I have for normal workaday cutting tasks.

Great! with the price, I wish they offered a lanyard hole! i'm afraid i'd drop them!

Talk to David - he is a great fellow and he might be able to make one for you with a lanyard hole.

He is on facebook and is active there.

For light use they would be fine. I would not do any pounding on them or with them at all. The handle scale pieces are just glued in place and can come loose, fall out, and get lost.

They can also come loose or fall out if the knife is dropped.

A nice Sunday carry knife.

I have had a few pieces fall off just during shipping and glued them back in myself as well as I sent one back to David for repair due to a piece falling off and get lost which he kindly did for no charge.

And yet I have never carried one.

I was really lucky to get my first Yellowhorse. I run across a old add on a gun forum and sent a email after that I sent a postal money order to a PO box in New York. Four days later it came much to my brothers disbelief and it turned out to be a very early Lacy with a satin finish blade. Clear signs of use and had been sharpen more than once but nice. I took it to the Blade show and David offered to clean it up. I display it as is because as far as I know it's one of 18 or so with the satin finish blade. I've carried a few times too. I think David likes to see his art on belt and not locked up in a safe but I will admit that I never seen anyone carry outside of Atlanta.
